R School's Got Talent

Competition Rules 2010

Participation in "R" School's Got Talent 2010 is contingent upon acceptance of, and adherence to, these competition rules.

  • To participate in this competition you must be a student in Primary or Secondary School in Dundalk or the surrounding area.
  • Participants may perform solo or in teams of 3 or less performers.
  • All performances must be limited to 3 minutes or less.
  • Judging of Live Heats will be based on three criteria i.e.: performance, presentation and entertainment value.
  • Live Heat times will be allocated after closing date for entries (Fri 22nd Oct).
  • Any act requiring a backing track should submit said track to "R" School's Got Talent organisers on CD no later than Fri 22nd Oct. Tracks should be truncated to 3 minutes before submission.
  • For any act requiring a backing track, said track, if viewed to be inappropriate, will be disallowed without correspondence. The definition of inappropriate will be decided by the Show Committee on a case-by-case basis and the Show Committee will have final say in this matter.
  • No act may request specific rehearsal times or position placement within the Live Heats, Semi-Finals or Grand Final.
  • No student may participate in more than one act.
  • All acts are required to participate in scheduled rehearsals the week before the Grand Finals.
  • The "R" School's Got Talent 2010 Judging Panel will have final say on which acts progress from the Live Heats stage to the Quarter-Finals. Progression to the Semi-Finals and Grand-Finals stage will be dictated by an audience vote.
  • The prize-fund for "R" School's Got Talent 2010 is €8000, €3,000 of which will be donated to charity.
  • All applicants under 18 years of age require parental or guardian consent to participate in "R" School's Got Talent 2010 (see application form).
  • All participants must be available for any publicity involved in "R" School's Got Talent 2010 including, but not limited to, Photo Shoots, Newspaper Interviews and Radio Interviews. Where participants are under 18 years of age, parental or guardian consent must also be provided (see application form).
